This project outlines the process that was involved in the purchasing of new production equipment for the Student Union Building at Truman State University. This prezi was used as a visual aid in a year-end intern presentation which covered a substantial project we had been working on over the semester. It showcases the equipment and outlines the process by which the equipment was selected. It was important to communicate the larger idea to the specific audience in a general sense while still working to demonstrate my specific knowledge and experience.

I realized that there was a demand from departments within the SUB including programming groups like the Center for Student Involvement and SAB and that our current equipment was not sufficiently meeting the technological needs of these groups. It was important to communicate this issue effectively in order to petition for the funding for the project. I then worked within the given budget to research options and solicit informational bids in order to find the most appropriate solution for our needs and the needs of the clients we serve. After finalizing the equipment list, we formulated it into a request for our business office with all of the necessary documentation to begin the requisition and bidding process. I worked very closely with the business office throughout that process in order to clarify the request to the companies placing bids and then to interpret the information we received and ultimately select a company to purchase from. I finalized the order and communicated on behalf of the university throughout the final purchasing process. I was then responsible for inspecting the equipment, adding it to our inventory and helping to fill out the receiving report.

The equipment has been used for multiple live events and recording projects. I am now in the process of training additional users on the proper setup and use of the equipment so they can utilize it to its full potential after I graduate.
