This was a poster re-design project. I found a college democrats poster on the wall that needed some serious help and got to work. So, I started thinking democrat. Obama is president, he’s a democrat. He got elected on the platform of “Change.” Its a nice “democratic buzz word” now. The purpose of the College Democrats club here at Truman is to promote democrats in Missouri and the United states a whole. One of the ways that this happens is through educating peopleon the issues. In other words, offering a new perspective on an issue. Ok, so that makes sense. The difference between 2D and 3D is perspective. The most obvious connection to 3D is the stereoscopic offset red and blue. So, I chose images of obvious governmental buildings/structure and made them “3D”. My favorite is definitely the capital building. The architectural detail lent well to developing the desired effect. The halftone was used just to help the 3D images have a bit more depth on the poster. I’ve always wanted to play around with this effect and I think this was the perfect concept to do it.
